Bandcloud is 3. Kinda shocked it's still going but where would you be without it. I jest...
VA - Physically Sick by Allergy Season
This is a compilation from DISCWOMAN and Allergy Season, and it's to coincide with the inauguration today. Unavoidable isn't it. It's full of tense, angry music that rages at the currrent situation in the US. Sweat out the anger and build your own systems. There's also a soft and delicate number imbued with pain from James K right in the middle called 'My Sorrow Is Luminous'. Other track titles include 'This Techno Tool Track Kills Fascists', 'It's Time 2 Yack' and 'All My Love To The Planet'. Profits will go to the American Civil Liberties Union, Callen-Lorde, the National Immigration Law Center and Planned Parenthood, all of which "oppose the hateful policies of the incoming administration".
Kay Hill - Anarak
Invisible City return with another wonderfully bleak tape. I listened to it twice in a row on Tuesday morning. It was a particularly bleak-sounding day; I was trying to keep my spirits level, if not high, but this kind of thing is like a warm blanket to me.
Parallel Asteroid - ITINERARY
This is a really interesting experimental album from a duo of artists based in Vietnam, shared this way by Sound Awakener (more from her below). It's got weird blissful tones, crackling fuzz, strange noise. Lots of weirdness for you.
Talugung / _blank - pml cdr 01
Power Moves usually make tapes but this is their first CD. The tracks from Talugung are simply delightful, I think they're made from recorder? It doesn't matter, they're eerie and strange and just brilliant. _blank contributes a lengthy droning noise piece that's a perfect counterpoint to the darting melodies that precede it.

LANOCHE Live @ Alpenglühen#20
Lanoche is a Madrid-based artist who takes inspiration from the warm and dubby side of electronic music, labels like Mule and Faitiche and so forth. This beautiful ambient performance took place last week at a night called Alpenglühen. Dark, undulating throb.
AI-06: Heavenly Music Corporation - Lunar Phase [out 03/02]
This album was originally released on CD in 1995, but Astral Industries are giving it a vinyl release next month. It's a wonderful new-age exploration, lengthy ambient tones that take you to another world. The discogs page has the following note: "This cd is compiled of material composed especially for st. giga, japan, a satellite broadcast radio station that transmits ambient music 24 hours a day, whose the programming is based around current tidal movements." Cool.
piksel - Melyni
This is a short set of tracks from London-based sound artist Piksel. The first track features film trailer wob and strange sounds; the second plays music box twinkle against choral terror; and the third is a nightmarish mix of plucks and reverse. Chilling.
Accident du Travail @ Café Oto
This TTT-released duo performed in Café Oto a little while back and the performance was documented for posterity. You can buy a download at Oto's site, but it's also in SoundCloud in its entirety, applause and all. Magical ambience.
Sound Awakener - Lo/Hi - Excerpt of performance
This is a short excerpt from a recent performance at an event in Hanoi called Lo/Hi, which was dedicated to the search of new processes in music-making. Sound Awakener aka Nhung Nguyen can move easily between classical, ambient and other modes, and this performance demonstrates that ease and talent wonderfully.
Passing True - Outer Body
Irish artist Kobina shared this set of tracks he made after a recent panic attack in the middle of the night. He said after he made them he calm again. They're quite lovely, SAWII kinda stuff (the nice bits, not the scary bits).
Bandcloud is back on DDR on Sunday. I'm no longer sick so it's definitely happening.
