Important announcement. Today, Bandcamp is donating 100pc of its share from all purchases to the American Civil Liberties Union. Tying in with that, this week there are six Bandcamp entries and four from SoundCloud.
LIVE LOW - Toada
Some kind of freeform noise abstractions, some post-rock guitar plucking, some techno stylings, it's all very loose in its approach. Mood music from Portugal.
Earthen Sea - A Serious Thing
A collection of unreleased tracks from master of the deep Earthen Sea. Some of it is dreamily deep, some goes hard, some asks questions, some just ponders. Proceeds are going to the International Refugee Assistance Project, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and the National Lawyers Guild.
Leaaves - We Will Forget Our Sadder Days In Summers That Never End
Oh this is delightful. It's from the first batch of tapes on the new Spare No Expanse label, and it's by Leaaves, who featured here before in the Pokémon-esque Outdoor Games on Third Kind last year. He's sat on it for a while, but it seems apt now. It's a gorgeous collection of vignettes, slightly murky, dripping with emotion. Drift away. Oh and until February 5, the label is donating all profits to World Relief Durham, a group working to resettle refugees in North Carolina.
user_ambiguous - Whispers Of A Dream
As usual from Shimmering Moods, this album by the deliberately mysterious user_ambiguous is, well, a shimmering delight. Blissful ambient tones, dancing arpeggios, haunting melodies. It's all there.
Body In The Thames - Wasted Journeys EP
"Music for headphones and staring out of car/train/plane/spaceship windows and dreaming off over the horizon." This is the perfect summation for this release, which kicks off with the 10-minute 'Memento Metro', a track that moves in several directions while maintaining a solid theme, not unlike your morning commute. Same goes for the title track (take that as you will). Finally, 'Polyurethane Raindrops' is like a muted take on 'Erotic Discourse'. Gurgling, mellifluous techno, it's a thing of beauty.
Joel Putman - Threads
A varied collection of ambient and electronic bits from Joel Putman, released via Sonic Soundscape Lab. Like several pieces this week, it runs from murky noise to beautiful melodies. 'Asclepias' is a highlight. Healing, if you will.

Sister Mix #21: an ni
Absolutely wild mix this, featuring some startling noise and club madness, finally ending up in what I guess is hard house for 2017. Nutso.
maral - messed up (jersey club edit)
Beautiful Iranian music twisted and corroded through metal and digital processes.
Andi Otto: Kyoto Pebbles
Kind of Austin Cesear-esque pulsing ambient techno, with hints of eastern melodies. I believe it's put together using a novel sensor-extended cello called Fello. Thanks to Kera aka Akila aka Tuner for the tip.
Sami - Planing - 12" - FT042
1432 R's Sami drops this diamond for Future Timing. It's so much fun. Them flutes!
