Actress cancelled! I still had fun in Glasgow though. rRoxymore and Rubinstein were great, and I got on Subcity with DJ Fomo and Beat Beneath. Good times.
Bergsonist - Bergsonism
Bergsonism is the belief that "the world is a process of creative evolution in which the novelty of successive phenomena rather than the constancy of natural law is the significant fact". It's also a release from Bergsonist, who may or may not espouse this belief. Thick and distorted bass drums, squawking synths and a track inspired by/dedicated to expressionist artist Wassily Kandinsky. Lots going on.
MueseuM - The Tour
Weirdo post-rock ambient kinda stuff I guess? Goes in different directions, keeps you guessing. PS to understand the title of track two see here.
Delphine Dora & Sophie Cooper - Think Away
Was Ist Das? returns! They released two tapes this week, one a score for Nosferatu from Lo Imp, the other a second collaboration between Dora and Cooper. If you're familiar with these artists you may recognise the brash trombone, reverbed bells, ghostly vocals and wistful piano, but the quality remains high. A breathtaking body of work.
TX Connect - Rhythm Implement EP
I really loved the Professor EP from M//R on his and Volvox's Jacktone label, so I'm excited to share this one from TX Connect. It's simple stuff, raw acidic drum machine jams, but by god they bang. Both about 10 minutes in length, it's a study in fun, drifting along almost listlessly without getting boring or annoying.

NTS Radio - Livity Sound Show Guest Mix - Anina
Dark dark dark. Anina is part of the Happy Skull crew and this guest mix shows off her blackened palette of post-jungle, murky techno sounds. It's got that Bristol dread feel, dank and oppressive and refusing any light. Wicked!
Nathan Melja - Jerky Teardrop
French producer Nathan Melja dropped a super 12 last year on Technicolour, and now he launches his own label with Jerky Teardrop. The title track is a glooped gel of looped bass, strange spoken words echoing above. The Blue Mix is a brighter and more serious affair, less tongue in cheek and more straightforward. Then 'Places We Belong To' goes for a breezy summer hip-hop-meets-disco vibe. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm won over.
2Lanes - Can U guess??
Joey from the D threw up this weird ambient thing last night. I like it. Somewhere between electroacoustic art and radiophonic weirdness, it's very cool.
CMD Sound Warrior Mix
I played a few tracks from the forthcoming Sound Warrior record on my shows last month, which features Cherushii (RIP), Aurora Halal and label boss Jenifa Mayanja among others. CMD also features, and she's done a mix for Sound Warrior ahead of its release. It's deep and immersive house and techno, with unrelenting pace and groove.
baby.com - DO IT FOR TIMBO
Um, hey - 45 minutes of Timbaland!
CL - electrical encounters
Former Bandcloud mixer CL just shared her first track! It starts off on a muted electro tip, then opens up with these gloriously bright synths. An expertly accomplished debut.
Mark Flash - UR Soul Power Mix
I came across a 2007 interview with Underground Resistance's Mad Mike in The Wire the other day and then went on a bit of a UR binge. I found this 2014 mix CD on SoundCloud. Bang bang. Just superb.
That's it.
