Loads of tunes! Lots to enjoy. Dank and bright. Languid and energetic.
Anne Chris Bakker - Reminiscences
This album from Dutch artist Anne Chris Bakker has been kicking around my wishlist for some time but this week I gave it proper attention. There's a broad range of styles at play here, based largely in long drone and eerie folk guitar.
Dinelka & Wiklow - Assembly Point EP
This is another one I've been meaning to share for some time. It's a duo split between Sri Lanka and Canada that collaborates online. That's not really that unusual these days I suppose. Dinelka's half is full of chopped electronics and abstract sounds, mechanical expression suggesting dank unease. Wiklow takes an even deeper approach, allowing sounds to grow and spread slowly, occasionally allowing tempered beats to join the fray.
Ikpathua - Oboo EP
Check this one out for the Machine Woman remixes. The originals are nice, especially the strange 'Forest Echoes', but MW really ramps up the sludge with her takes on the title track. There's a track called 'Murk' too, and yeah, I like it.
gigi masin - wanna play the blues
Big thanks to reader Abel Vlaanderen for alerting me to this one. It's a gorgeous shuffling track that balances other-worldly synth modulations with utterly heartbreaking chords and gentle melodies. It's from a netlabel compilation from 2007 but it's simply timeless.

Martin Hannett Homage to Delia Debyshire
A 1982 album tribute to the wonderful Delia Derbyshire. It's full of weird and cheeky melodies and ideas, ranging from pop and salsa to scuzzy rock, taking in church organs and, of course, the strange electronics you'd expect from such a project.
Kfeelz - God is a black woman with a good sense of humor
This is a super mix from New York DJ Kfeelz. Bright and chunky house that takes a detour via 'Voodoo Ray' and closes with some K-Hand.
Various Artists - enamel june 17
Twenty minutes of blissful ambient wash.
Muqata'a مُقاطَعة - La Lisana Lah - لا لِسَانَ لَه
Sick selection of crusty beats from Palestinian producer Muqata'a. I believe the title means No Tongue.
bspnk - july
NEO TRANCE. Or something. It's a short track but it's great!
Outmix - Lolz (Bap, GASH)
Lolz gets in the mix ahead of a special secret two-day event in Cork this weekend. Classic Hessle, some ELLLL, some rumbling techno, it's a belter of a mix.
VODERcast .088 Flora Fm - Orchid Centralization Network
Taylor Hawkins from Detroit, now based in Seattle, is embarking on a new project called Flora FM. He's kickstarting with this mix, which is an incredible launch the venture. It's a spellbinding mix of early 90s rave classics that's just a huge barrel of fun.
That's it. Hope the weather is nice and you're feeling good. If not, I'm here for you.
