Nothing of note to say here. I am but a vessel for the music below.
Sayara Hamra - Sleep Eternal
This is ace. It starts off with swirling, ominous noise, moving into angry vocal samples and pained screams. Twin Peaks in the Middle East/Midwest. The latter two tracks feature mutated trap and slowed down sirens that feel like a new take on the much maligned witch house genre. Very much down for this and hoping for more.
Broken Skies - Broken Skies
What a release! I don't even know where to begin. The backbone of the release is one lengthy track, full of strange passages built up with searing noise and drone, whirs, clanks and shards of decrepit sound. Two shorter tracks are more focused and less dense, sparse in their exposition of terror and paranoia. The accompanying text is baffling.
Entrancer - No Borders [OF014]
I came across this one and learned the artist was formerly called Thug Entrancer, but removed the first part of his name because of the negative associations of that term. It's a rare instance of an artist recognising a problem with a choice that they've made, drawing a line under it and making a change. Read more here. The release here is a tape full of acid experiments, lots of slow reflections and chugging thud and some more upbeat yet no less morose tracks for the floor.
Raych V - Tempus Edax Rerum
Dark ambient from an Irish artist and sound designer. Mood music for impending doom.

Lazercat LIVE (excerpt) - Mechatronica @ Griessmühle, Aug. 12th 2017
Wowee, this is fun. Gloriously shiny Italo/disco/electro from Lazercat, a Berlin-based artist. This is an excerpt from a live show last month. Only 27 mins, not nearly enough.
Anna Peaker - Close To (rough)
Excellent dank that feels like a plane taking off.
E-Saggila - Lux Campaign
Opal Tapes back at it again, this time with a repeat performance from E-Saggila. This tape features jagged, noisy textures that feel like modern EBM, giving way to snarling techno that doesn't let up. "Movement" is beautifully harrowing.
ilana bryne - Live Set Sept 2017
Ilana Byrne, fka Nothing Natural, shared this live set a few days ago. It's intense! Sparse, trippy techno and electro that's dainty as it dances about and powerful in its punches.
AshTreJinkins - Fruit In Failure EP (APRON34)
How did I miss this??? I love the work of AshTreJinkins as Brown Irvin, so should have been all over this before it dropped today. It's on Apron, and it combines elements of confused ambient, shuffling Detroit house and the producer's own LA beat scene. The titles are all great too. "But I Got You This Haunted House Baby!" APRON33 from Dreams sounds great too. Any sign of a digi please?
CCL Live at The Lodge
This is an absolutely stellar set from CCL, performed at The Lodge in Mount Rainier National Park in Washington (state). It's 70 minutes of simply beautiful ambient, played at sunset. It builds beautifully from nothing, and features some tracks that just about escape me, but it's the kind of set that's best enjoyed horizontally. It moves into some spacey electro towards the end, fittingly, as the night falls. It was featured on Aurora Mitchell's recent Radar Radio show, but this is the unabridged version, if I can call an excerpt unabridged... "An ode to intimate moments with platonic friends <3"
