Der Opium Queen – In The Clouds EP [First Second Label]
Der Opium Queen is the first native producer to release on Irish label First Second Release. It's a silly artist name in my opinion but I'm sure he knows that. The music is bouncy and punchy but still languid and refreshing. Opener 'Entrance To En Trance' is a highlight not least because of its title, while 'No Love Lost' is an MK-style classic jaunt.

Katie Gately ~ winter froze, little toes ~
Katie's been smashing it lately, with a bunch of lengthy pieces going up this week alone. This is possibly my highlight but honestly they've all been great, improvised vocal sessions rendered foggy and mysterious by serious processing. And another great title.
