The year's almost half over. How any kettles have you thrown over how many pubs?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mssingno - XE2
Not new, but always worth sharing. Goon Club Allstars just got a Bandcamp page. This is a jam. Never heard it played better than in this LinG mix but still. Came out in winter, sounds utterly gorgeous in the sunshine.

The Sly and Unseen - Improbable
UK ambient centred around an old Indian harmonium. Lay back in the shack, play this (set of) track(s).

Gigi Masin
I never got round to this - so much music, so little time etc - but Ben UFO played 'The Nylon Dollar' on Rinse last night and it sounded pretty special. It's one of those nine-minute beautiful journey tracks. Time to check the rest out eh.

Break SL - Atlantic Ocean Road
Relatively straightforward sundrenched house music. 'Atlantic Ocean Road' is kind of gelatinous and emotive, 'FM4 Life' is both darker and more tongue in cheek. 'Malstrøm' is on a real drum-machine workout tip. 'Trocadéro' is my tip though (h/t to Paul Shadow Dancer for including it in his Juno chart). As emotive as 'AOR' (that's an unfortunate acronym), if not more so, it brings to mind long drives on coastal motorways. I think it would fit in on Danny Howells' GU mix. That could just as well put you off I guess. More recently though, it kind of calls to mind Beatnick's 'Blue Dream'.

VA - ...and darkness came
Good luck getting through this one. An 87-track compilation released late in 2012 to raise money that would go to Doctors Without Borders and The Humane Society in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. "The artists on the release have been hand-picked to showcase the world's top talent in ambient, modern classical, and experimental music. The unprecedented selection features many unreleased pieces composed exclusively for the cause."

Justin Wiggan & Francesco De Gallo - Tone One
This is forthcoming on Jehu and Chinaman, in very limited quantities. I'm trying to use words other than murky and dank, and outsider house, but they seem appropriate. Not sure if this is a collage of tracks from the tape or a track in itself, but it's an immersive listen.

antenna_research - 1F575 (disquiet0129-sonicemoji)
Husband-and-wife team Bruce and Karin are amassing a collection of synths - Karin actually set up an Austin Women Synth Musicians group, which is pretty cool. This is a short piece but it was created to reflect sonically five of the new emoji created recently. Pretty cool idea. Not sure if it works but I dig it.

Beatrice Dillon - Beyond Sector 12/12 (June 2014) // Truancy Volume 99
Beatrice Dillon's fascinating mind at play in two different mixes here, one for the Beyond Sector 12/12 stream on Mixlr, one for Truants. No point trying to sum them up, just dive right in.

 Xosar - Flesh Prison

This starts off like a fairly standard Xosar track (so that means it's very good) but then drifts off into some seriously disturbed nightmare sounds. Tagged as #kdjfksjfh so you know it's real.

NTS L.A.C.R. TAKOVER PART 1 - DELROY EDWARDS

Yung Hellboy throws down a mix of screwed rap joints and west coast jams. Bit weird but what do you expect.

lɘnta. - dive inside
Quite simple really. Almost like bits of Nenado's Your Sketch if it was stripped back and left to play out eternally.

Dave Saved - Power and Silence: Deindustrialization EP

Stream the rather brilliant new EP from Dave Saved on Gang of Ducks. A search for perfect sonics in a world of imperfection. A river of sludge. Great stuff, all told.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quick FYI. I set up a Tumblr. I went against my better judgment and posted a list of albums I've really liked this year (many/most of which have featured in these emails) and then posted a few other bits. Previews that don't have full tracks, old releases. Well, one of each, so the plural is incorrect. Anyway. Have a look.

All the best,

Aidan
