It’s a double bank holiday here in Ireland, the government decided to say fuck it and let us have today off too. Though what’s a bank holiday when you’re “between jobs”? I’ll try to give as much insight as possible but I’m not back to my best tbqh.
Irish artist Teishi-1 releases his first album in a while. High in energy and full of colour, it’s a thrill.
Off the strength of this Yamaoka release I bought this digi package deal from Shimmering Moods. Then I got sick and haven’t had a chance to listen to everything else. This one is just delightful though.
I’ve seen a lot of people share John Object’s work so finally took a moment to check it out. The Ukrainian artist has put together this compilation of his works over a decade or so, including originals and some remixes of the likes of Coil and Autechre.
2Lanes - The Cosmic Faint Mixes
Whatever about everything else I have managed to listen to this a few times, two super tracks from 2Lanes. Just loads of bouncy fun here.
New slammin dnb sounds from Detboi on 2 Bad Mice’s Over/Shadow label. Sorry if slammin is a very uncool term Des.
otodojo - Returning to Neo-Tokyo
A double dose of releases from Perimeter Junk. All a lot of weird and exciting electronic techno-ish sounds. The latter appears to be at the very least inspired and informed by Akira. Really invigorating sounds.
This release on The Trilogy Tapes dropped a few weeks ago but I just caught up now. Kiki Kudo has made some cool stuff on different labels including Best2s and Incienso. This is made up of two beautiful lengthy tracks.
Out next week, this is a gorgeous release from Irish artist c o m t e. Not exactly googleable I think.
DJ.ppt / DJ Power Point - Untitled
A restrained and understated banger from DJ Power Point.
A new varied set of bangers from Otik, who never fails to impress.
_DS - Improvised piece for two pianos, an oscillator, a resonator and a bird.
I mean with that title, what do you want from me?!
I haven’t heard from Moiré in a while, and perhaps this track is stuck in the lofi house past, but I like it a lot all the same.
