Sup. Sure the year is nearly a quarter over and what have we to show for it?! Tunes.

Broshuda - Coded verbal
The mysterious Broshuda drops this CD for WTF is SWAG, a label that calls itself mysterious. Sigh. Anyway the release itself is dope. Angry stabs of percussion over muted synths and field recordings, searing bass meeting ominous moments of dank, ventures in dub following the sonic pallette without seeming at odds. Remixes come from Joane Skyler, Jonas Wiese and Birdy Earns, the latter of which dabbles beautifully in gated trance synths.
Various Artists - Lavaland (Subspiele Records)
An album of deep techno inspired by a landscape covered in lava. Nuff said innit etc.
Lockah - Barcelona Drums
This is the latest from Lockah, of the Donky Pitch crew. The lead track off the And Blue Brindle Too, it's a bit 'Baba O'Riley', hands in the air, tears streaming down your face kinda stuff. It opens with a dark snarl of noise and ever-growing arpeggio of bright synths before rushing into a clamour of widescreen 80s percussive bombast, it's a joyous track that closes with an acid recapitulation of its main themes.
Vapor Lanes - gardens
A short vignette from US artist Vapor Lanes. It's gorgeous and I wish it was longer. His Twitteris riveting - follow for insights on music, artistry, race and life in general.
TB - City Girl
John Talabot goes deep with this one. It's not as floral as his work under his own name, but it's just as melodic.
Buzz Compass - Move To Black (Kim Anh Remix) [PREVIEW]
This is only a preview and that enrages me cause it's super. LA's Kim Anh reworks Russian producer Buzz Compass, and from this teasing snippet it seems like a wonderful take on classic acid house.
Lancashire Folklore Tapes Vol.IV - Memories of Hurstwood
Another preview I'm afraid - a sampler of a forthcoming release on Folklore Tapes. There's not really much about it, though the title gives some hint. Memories of Hurstwood is a 19th-Century book about a small area in Burnley, Lancashire. It has chapters on prehistoric times, footprints of the Celts, Romans and Saxons, "Witchcraft and Boggart Tales and Old Customs etc" and so on - fascinating.
Mix Mup - Seaweed
Aptly named! Forthcoming on meakusma, this is a fuzzy trip underwater, humming drones and wonky synth at play over crass hi-hats.
Lapalux - Puzzle (feat. Andreya Triana)
Maybe this isn't very me? I don't know. Hazy, dreamlike sonics from Lapalux, plenty of wonderful sax floating around, and soulful vocals from Andreya Triana.
Tiffany Calver - 27th February 2015
And on a more upbeat note, here are two hours of rap, trap and grime and garage.
