Welcome to the second guest mix of the year. This one comes from Cairo-based DJ and producer DINA. She first came to my attention with her high-energy Boarding Gate shows on Montreal's n10.as radio station. She also runs a collective-slash-club night called Nachtcrew with her sister Nadia, a VJ, "fusing techno and 3D mapping visuals in order to provide an immersive sensorial experience". In the past year she's remixed Wraetlic, played a number of high-octane Boiler Room sets and put out a release on Berlin's Molten Moods, one I described as "trippy, driving techno". That could sum up this mix, which is both of those things, but also melodic and mellifluous, balancing warbling acid lines with soaring trance themes. It delves into the past but keeps an eye on the future, opening with classic R&S and closing with bang up-to-date techno out of Thessaloniki.
