DJ Voices (@latenitesbookclub) & Unscented DJ (@brandon-wilner) are a duo based in New York, US. They've been playing together on The Lot Radio for more than two years and they also run a party called Badness. The next one is taking place in December and they've got Cera Khin playing, so that should be great. DJ Voices is part of the Working Women collective, regulars at Nowadays (where she also works as a booker) and across Brooklyn. They also played a bunch of gigs in Europe this summer, including one at the famed Golden Pudel. I think her Discwoman mix last year was the "wow" moment for me. Unscented DJ, meanwhile, is a similarly busy DJ in New York and beyond. He recently did a wonderful mix for Noisey centred around dusty breakbeats from dollar bin jams. They've called the mix they've put together "Evil Music", and it's a sinister affair filled with crunchy and squelchy EBM-type sounds and pitched-down Goa trance. Perfect music for the ever-darker post-Halloween period.
