This month's mix comes from Ipek Gorgun, a genuinely multi-talented artist from Istanbul in Turkey. She's on my radar because of her wonderful music, but she's a PhD candidate in sonic arts who's got an MA in philosophy, as well as being a published poet and photographer. She took part in RBMA Tokyo in 2014, and has composed work for film and recital halls alike. Her debut album Aphelion came out this year, a striking body of work that falls somewhere between chilling ambient and electroacoustic menace.
This mix came through with no blurb, just a tracklist, and features a huge range of music, from metal and drone to Night Slugs (via Toronto), Cretan lute, minimalism and more. Most lovely to me was Vincenzo Zitello's 'Urdh', but I'll leave it there. Enjoy.
