This latest one comes from Michael McGregor aka M/M. Born in New York and now based in Mexico City after a decade in Brooklyn, he's released a small but impressive amount of music in the last few years, dropping ambient tapes as Meadowlands and murky techno and some more ambient as M/M for 1080p, videogamemusic and, most recently czaszka (rec.). He's behind the really excellent Sound + Vision mailout, in which he finds old/forgotten music and shares it with his readers. A bit like this, but older and weirder, and more sporadic. Disco, gamelan, psych. Anything goes.
This mix is a really interesting one, he recorded it shortly after coming back from Japan with a stack of new records. He writes: "Super spacey chill out mix with a ton of tracks i was listening to pre/post a solo road trip through the Yucatan of mexico — exploring centuries old mayan ruins, spiritual cenotes, and jungles on the coast."
I've played it a bunch of times, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
