Patricia Wolf is an artist based in Portland, Oregon, who describes herself as a musician / sound designer / field recordist / DJ. It’s in the latter capacity that she features here, having put together the first Bandcloud Guest Mix of 2022. We’ve been in conversation a lot over the past year and a half or so, all basically stemming from my playing her track ‘Sauvie Island Wilderness Area’ from the Room40 compilation Particle Count on my radio show. Ducks aplenty.

This mix is a wonderful selection of ~ambient~ pieces from the recent past, ranging from Fennesz and Olivia Block to KMRU and Hiro Kone, Astrid Sonne and Penelope Trappes to William Basinski. It ranges from raucous and overpowering to subtly gentle, with melancholic piano leading into a whirlwind of samples as the mix reaches its conclusion.
