Hey. What's up with you? I was simply bowled over with music this week; I hope I did it justice with my paltry words here.

Magic and Dreams
Bass Clef has put all the stuff on his Magic and Dreams page up for Buy now: Name your price for a short time only - I think it's till this Monday (September 15). But sure throw him a few quid anyway.
Lindsay Dobbin - Arrival
This one is deceptively simple. Sound artist Lindsay Dobbin shares two long-form soundscapes, each made up of little more than two droning chords played over and over, but to a richly beautiful effect. Last year she lost some of her hearing, and as she could hear less she would dream more. These beautiful dreams inspired these pieces, drifting and flowing through time and space. This may sound like hyperbole but I think it makes perfect sense.
Sias - Office of Public Works
New York based but Dublin born, Frank Sweeney, aka Frank B, adopts the Sias guise for this wonderful tape release. Eleven tracks of stretched and squeezed electronics, moving from starry-eyed beatlessness to muted techno tropes.
Motion Sickness of Time Travel- Ballades 6xcs (HIV1142)
Some of you may recall Motion Sickness of Time Travel's 'Ballade for a Snow Moon' from an early edition of Bandcloud. Another long-form ambient piece, it was then unavailable for purchase. It was a piece from a series of works by Rachel Evans, who, over the past year, set out to record and release an album each month dedicated to each month's respective full moon. Now she's put together a six-tape collection of her work, coming in an oversized box with a two-sided 2015 lunar calendar. Sublime.

Call Super - Coney Storm Drain (Extended Version)
In advance of the sublime Suzi Ecto's release, Houndstooth put out a 7" with two alternate versions of album cuts. This B-side is, as it says, an extended version of the murky and abstract 'Coney Storm Drain'. Go deep. I've written a (relatively) lengthy review of the album, keep your eyes peeled, if you're into that kinda thing.
Rinse FM Podcast - Mumdance - 8th September 2014
I don't even know if I can find the words to do this justice. Mumdance's Rinse show is just awesome, moving from droning weightlessness to instrumental grime into more frenetic hardcore sounds. Some of the transitions are the best I've ever heard. He even played a track he got sent as the show was happening. Massive respect.
Shadow Dancer - September 2014 Mix
There hasn't been a Shadow Dancer mix in a while so this is a welcome treat. Wonderful slabs of house and techno, as per usual, as well as a few cuts from their forthcoming album. Watch out for the Locked Groove track too, it's ace.
BIS Radio Show #745
Pt 1 with: The Black Madonna
Pt 2 with: Avalon Emerson
Gutted I didn't include this last week tbh. Forty weeks out of the year BiS passes me by, to be perfectly honest. Those weeks that catch my eye are nearly always stellar, though. The Black Madonna and Avalon Emerson were just great last week, TBM playing a set of chunky disco grooves and Avalon playing her wonderful blend of up-to-the-minute house and techno and old-school classics. Chris & Cosey - Lost Bliss (Carter Tutti Remix) for example. SO GOOD. Her new tracks are great, especially the Triple Scorchio Mix of 'Let Me Love & Steal', present here. Lone and New Jackson featured this week but I'm so far behind I haven't peeped those sets yet. I'm sure they're great too though.
Xosar - The Pit
My man Joe put it better than I ever could: "It’s like a bunch of paranoid soundwaves are debating whether or not they’re OK with leaving the speakers before their brash kick drum mate picks them up and throws them on the dancefloor."
grouper 'call across rooms'
NEW GROUPER ALERT. I'm psyched for this album. This is gorgeous.
PaulGuinan - September 2014
Paul Guinan presents 38 minutes of sultry, sweaty house music. Straightforward stuff, no-nonsense tunes to make you dance. I'm particularly taken with 808 Mate's 'Retina Dreams' on Workshop, hadn't heard it before somehow.
Shanti Celeste - Porto Seguro
Meaty snippet of the track three from Shanti Celeste's new one on Broadwalk (I know I know, it's really good though, trust me). Chunky house with a really infectious bass lead and a well worn sample that still, somehow, works. If you haven't checked out Shanti's RA pod past, get on it. It's a riot. There's also a video for the title track. It's all go.
"Life on Laputa Regio" by Neel
Gorgeously haunting stuff from Neel's solo debut full length.
i-DJ: Waze & Odyssey
More straight-up house business, this time from Waze & Odyssey. There's a gas Jimmy Stewart sample in there, anyone know what it is? Sadly, as ever with i-D mixes, there's no DL.
Juno Plus Podcast 95: Aïsha Devi
Danse Noir head Aïsha Devi turns in the latest JP PP, a masterful journey through current trends in underground dance music and an introduction to more sacred sounds. In her own words, Luv Extase II aims towards: "A hybrid zone, by merging current and secular music. a kind of a third territory." I've linked the JP page and not the Soundcloud itself because the interview is really worth reading.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it folks. Bits and pieces on the BC Twitter as ever, and random wafflings and rants on my own too. If you feel I'm missing out on something I'm always willing to listen.
Peace,
Aidan
