Minor Science - Blowing Up The Workshop 32: Absent Friends
Subtitled Absent Friends and apparently the first in a series, this is a stellar Blowing Up the Workshop mix of mostly beatless stuff. Best listened to alone in the afternoon while drinking wine in your pyjamas. No tracklist but you can hit Angus up for IDs.
Godflesh - Imperator
If you couldn't tell Bandcloud is being guest edited this week from the subject line, you probably can now. The new Godflesh album, A World Lit Only By Fire, is in the vein of Pure or Streetcleaner, and every bit as eviscerating.
Vessel - FACT mix 460
:zoviet*france:, Coil, Jason Lescalleet and a couple of medieval jams thrown in for good measure. I can't recommend this mix or Vessel's new album Punish, Honey enough. (Shameless plug: I interviewed him for FACT, too; read it here.)
Peverelist - Kinetics
Not content with releasing some of the best music of 2014 (if you haven't checked out his Some Truths LP Some Friends I Lost To Bedlam, Others I Abandoned There, do so now), Ralph Cumbers is kicking off a new series on his Magic and Dreams label with music by Peverelist. This tune is predictably excellent.
Holly Herndon - Home
A break-up anthem with a difference: this one is addressed to the NSA. It's also one of Holly Herndon's best tunes to date, and has a stunning video too. I grow more excited for her second album every day.
Slackk, Mumdance, Grandmixxer, Dark0, Murlo - Grime Soundclash, Rinse FM
All heaters.

Paul White - Shaker Notes
The new Paul White album on R&S. Shaker Notes sounds nothing like the Paul White you know, but don't let that put you off. Where You Gonna Go and Honey Cats are the biggest jams on here but the whole thing's wonderful.
Charlatan - Local Agent
Yes, this has been out a little while, but I also think it's one of the best records the incredibly prolific Brad Rose has released.
Bugskull - Collapsed View
I love this trippy, dreamy little record by Bugskull on Digitalis, especially the song Druids. Shout out to Brad Rose again, who should probably be paying me for all these endorsements, but isn't.
Space Afrika - Above The Concrete / Below The Concrete
Gorgeous dub techno vibes from the same label that put out Beatrice Dillon's excellent Blues Dances tape (shameless plug #2: look out for my interview with her some time in the near future). The label says this is RIYL Vladislav Delay and Machinefabriek, and I couldn't agree more.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a sober note, we lost one of the greatest UK artists of my lifetime yesterday. I'll have the Spaceape's family and friends in my thoughts this weekend.
Cheers,
Maya
