Mouthpiece for hustlers. I'm back. Maya and Wonja did a fantastic job in my absence though, their efforts were truly appreciated.

Chicago Jim - Chicago Jim LP
I'd share this just for the artwork, but the music is great too though. Lobster Theremin are really great, and this is their first LP release. Chicago Jim makes Chicago house, but really it's acid, it's techno, it's house, it's got some ambient interludes, it's great. B1 is gorgeously playful. C2 is equally playful but filled with longing. Top work.
Talbot Fade - Talbot Fade
Not sure if I've ever shared this before but here it is. It's a perfect accompaniment to the ever colder nights of October and November, those mournful moments when you look inside yourself in those last seconds before sleep comes. Each beautiful track is matched with a similarly wonderful photo, like a scrapbook of perfectly compatible sound and image.
wzrdryAV - Medicinal Circuits
This is a similarly appropriate body of work for this time of year. Gently undulating synth lines that unfold over lengthy track times. Gorgeous track titles. Perfection. Check outPacific Greyscale too while you're at it.
Aurora Halal - Passageway
Aurora Halal was recently subject to a lengthy feature on RA. This release shows why she's worthy of the attention. Buzzy snarling techno, dream-like electronics (I'm particularly enamoured with 'Overpass') and pounding electro. A broad range in just a few tracks, you cry, yet the quality is unwavering.
Happy birthday Public Information
This excellent label has just marked its third birthday and to do so is offering some top discounts on certain releases. I grabbed the physical edition of Katie Gately's stunning release from last year as well as getting acquainted with Love Cult's gorgeous Fingers Crossed, which I'd missed before now. It's woozy and druggy but also quite sepulchral at times. Watch out for Thieves from Odd Rumblings in the near future.

uncertain - Thee Witches' Sabbath - The Summoning of the Horned Ones
I feel I should save this for Halloween, but nah. This is wild and twisted, a true invocation of menace and the macabre. If anyone's in Buffalo, NY, uncertain is playing at an event tonight that promises “dark arts, infernal realms and beings, esoteric electronics, night demons, black jackals, Baphomet, and Great Beasts rising to the sound of dark ambient and experimental sounds”.
Kroba - Drone Butter with Space Jam
Archie Pelago's Kroba teams up with Truants' very own Stephanie Neptune aka DJ Space Jam for an hour of drone, electronics and gentle ballads.
100% Spare - Production Mix
UK producer Spare keeps it 100 with this quick-fire mix of his own productions. Banging.
Halvtrak - Crushed By The Wheels of Industry
Halvtrak is the best dude anyway, but this title/track combo is just killer.
Umfang - Where U Been
New York DJ and promoter Umfang throws down 40 minutes of early acid house and techno. Deep. There's a wicked mix of Jam & Spoon's 'Stella' in there I've not heard before, I think it's Moby's Barracuda mix.
Rinse FM Podcast - Mumdance - 13th October 2014
I'll probably share this every month until Bandcloud but it's such a good show. Starts off with a 20-minute tribute to the late Mark Bell (RIP), and then goes in on the weightless vibes before hammering home with some grime/techno business. Special nod to the Yamaneko and Dark0 tracks.
Faitiche Mix: Do you know Japanese music?
This is nothing like those Fairlights mixes, but there is a splendid half-hour of Japanese music, from punk pop and ambient scores to found sound and classical. Intriguing.
ST003 - Avalon Emerson - Let Me Love & Steal EP
Avalon Emerson's been killing it this year. This four-track release on her own Spring Theory label is a further banner moment, with the Triple Scorpio remix of the title track banging for days. 'Honest Gangster', meanwhile, comes off like a rugged take on The Knife's 'Silent Shout'.

Be well.
