Happy Friday. Black or otherwise.

listen2me - Vol. 1
This is an interestingly varied compilation of electronic music from Romania. Electronica, doof-doof techno and more.
Be Honest - Idling
Ian Maleney's Fallow Field Music & Press just dropped two tapes, one of which has already sold out. This is the other, made by Ian himself. Hissing drone and shimmering overtones come together for something faintly beautiful. The artwork and packaging makes it even more essential.
Rastrejo - Fractura de Miramientos
Cool weird twangy tape music with awesome cover art. Ticks at least several boxes.
Bracken - Exist Resist
Norman just named this their album of the year so it caught my attention. It drifts between sepulchral electronica and shuddering bass, and it's got some pretty bad singing there too. It's quite striking really.
dot - S- EP
This is a bit more frivolous. It's a three-track release with 11 bonus tracks. lol? LA-based dot has some cool music here. Languid and dreamy but punchy at the same time.
Blood Under Winter-White Skin (for piano trio)
Isn't that an amazing Soundcloud ID? A new piece from the Irish composer that she described as follows on Twitter: "Trickling blood, crows, snow, a Dorothea Tanning painting (page turns John Cage would be proud of)." Really thrilling stuff.
A$AP Ferg - Talk It
A restrained and introspective Ferg gets a Clams Casino beat (that I'm not too sure about, weird bouncy riffs over some blissful synths) to talk about a variety of issues like #Ferguson, fans' expectations and more. Interesting.
Ben UFO - Recorded Live at fabric 15th Birthday Weekend
Sadly this one doesn't come with a download. It's a live recording of Ben UFO playing fabric's 15th birthday weekend. Barnt, STL, that wicked Olof Dreijer remix of Emmanuel Jal's 'Kuar', Lil Silva, Doms & Deykers and loads more feature. ENERGY.
Nadia Khan - Slight Drift
Where To Now? present the first taste of Nadia Khan's debut for the label. Soft and lilting and gorgeous. Can't wait to hear more really.
Draaier - All The Men Were Drowned
Well this is an ominous title, but it's a great track. Searing dark droning fuzz.
April Larson - Jurassic Park (Extinction Mix)
A lot of people are very excited about the forthcoming Jurassic Park film and April Larson is one of them. I won't even pretend to know if this features any of the first film's score but it's great anyway, soft and chilling and jagged and enervating.
Mr Mitch - Parallel Memories
This is something special. We keep hearing about deconstructed instrumental grime but this is exactly what that is from a real key player in the scene. Mr Mitch's album is on Planet Mu too, which shows that this weird twist on the genre is really catching people's attention in the right places. Just sink in and listen, it's great.
black thread - autumn flowers i
I guess I'm on a #November tip this week, with lots of sad, dark drone, but this is really great, honestly! The last three minutes are particularly wonderful.
Electronic Explorations - 347 - Hodge (EE 7th Birthday Mix #2)
Rob Booth's Electronic Explorations venture has been going for seven years now, and this week he's had two mixes to celebrate that fact. This second one is a proper banging run-through from Bristol's Hodge.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next week I'm going to send out the first monthly Bandcloud mix featuring a selection of cuts from the last few editions - it'll land in your inbox on either Tuesday or Wednesday, I've set to decide which. Isn't this exciting? Nah?
All the best,
Aidan
