It's been a good week! We set up a Soundcloud account. I hope you liked the mix, it should be an interesting way of taking stock of any given month.

Joseph Curwen - Vengeance Of The Infinite Abysses
This guy had the first release on the awesome new Invisible City Records label, and this features if only because of its awesome title and wild artwork. Nah, kidding. It's three half-hour journeys through nightmare sound, plodding techno that really haunted me on the way to work yesterday. I felt I could hear screams at some point.
The Landing - Tom James Scott
"Not more Where To Now?" I hear you cry. This is genuinely fantastic though, I've had it on repeat in moments of quiet contemplation this week (ie when walking to the bus stop or waiting for a train). It's so, so beautiful.
The Inventors Of Aircraft - No Answers, Not Even Any Questions
Another purveyor of awesome titles. The two tracks - 'Rural Brutalism' and 'Doomed Mysticism' - are pretty good too, which helps his case. Ethereal washes of synth, lurking sound effects and incessant sound all come together to burrow into your mind.
Odd Nosdam's Music To Psychic Drive By
It's just awesome title week here. This release features four tracks that display Odd Nosdam's different takes on ambient - blissful, dreadful, apocalyptic and hypnotic. It originally came out in July but this is a limited tape run, and you surely know how much we love tapes round these parts. Digital here.
WANDA GROUP - THE REST IS IN THE SINK CONCERTO
WANDA GROUP's latest upload is a 17-minute selection of pieces that didn't feature in his 'ROPED IN EVERY SIDE OF THE GLOBE', 'WE ALL MUTATE AROUND THE MOUNTAIN' and 'MY MAN THE ONLY MAN' releases. A lot of his work lately, including his forthcoming exhibit for Truants, has featured synths that are almost blinding in their intensity. This is no different. There's also some beautiful eastern music included towards the end. Drift away.
D. TIFFANY - peace the scene (forever mix)
Understated percussive chugger from D. Tiffany, aka Sophie Sweetland. Jangling bells, weighty kicks, lush synths. Nine minutes of it!
Volte-Face - Charlatan (Demo)
Vibey abstract experimentation from Casper Clark aka Volte-Face. Not long, but intriguing nonetheless. Hopefully he has more substantial work in store.
Jokers of The Scene - Endless Scene
Jokers of The Scene drop their final gem of 2014 with this release. I actually got lost in part one and forgot what was playing, it's that deep. It's really gorgeous, on that Glass meets Jarre meets 2014 tip, with shades of the JOTS sound to remind you who's at the controls.
Maggi Payne: "Back to Forth"
Kind of old, but new to me. Muted tones, drifting synths, patterns of sound that flow through the ages, it originally featured on this album, a collection of pieces that accompanied the multidisciplinary group Technological Feets in the mid-80s. Still sounds great now though.
John Loveless - A Mix For Banana Hill
Funky disco jams for days here. Get down, it's Friday etc.
Auclair - Mersea Mersea Me (Shape Worship remix)
This is a great remix from Shape Worship aka Friend of Bandcloud Ed Gillett. The original release from Auclair on Kit Records was a set of quirky pop tracks, featuring militaristic percussion rolls and robotic vocal tics. This version of 'Mersea Mersea Me' is part of a full package of remixes due out soon. They're all streaming at the above link but Shape Worship's is our favourite. It's a bit of an emotive breakbeat jeam, jerkingly emphasised percussion driving the track forward while warm swathes of bass and lush strings envelop the track like sunshine in late spring.
Slumber Session: Cloud Castle Lake
i-D are great at getting a diverse range of people to contribute these Slumber Sessions. The latest comes from Irish band Cloud Castle Lake, and it features immersive electronica, gentle piano, some obvious choices like 0PN and AFX and more. It's all good though, obvious or not.

Dublin people - go see Call Super tonight. Toronto people (if there are any) - go to LEGOBLOCKS at Bambi's tomorrow night. I have no other suggestions, people.
Have fun,
Aidan
