Hey. It's Friday, so it's time for some music.

Sealadder - Tiny Territories
This gorgeous release on the always-free Power Moves comes from Toronto's Cheryl Fraser, and it's an amorphous blob of comfortingly beautiful sound. It's not unlike the forthcoming Nadia Khan release on Where To Now?, at least to my ears. Some of it sounds like it was performed on the extant organ in a deconsecrated church following a nuclear holocaust.
Xth Réflexion - Xth Réflexion
Another belter from Aught, this. Rumbling percussion, whispered bass lines, factory-run machinery gone wild - it's a deep and immersive listen.
This Is It Forever - TIIF 2014
Here's a good, varied sampler of tracks from this small label, run by Gavin Miller of Ghosting Season. I particularly dig Lucy Claire's beautiful 'Stille', worriedaboutsatan's haunting 'I'm Not' (was = Ghosting Season, by the way. They've a new album out soon), and Winter Son's fraught 'Acid Rain (Version II)' (Winter Son is Thomas Ragsdale, the other half of Ghosting Season).
slumdiscs - New Years
And from one compilation celebrating last year to another looking to the year ahead. This is a collection of drastically different takes on "club" music - all rooted in techno, for want of a better umbrella term. Nadia Khan's track is as ghostly as 'Acid Rain' above, while Simic's 'CL Jam' is sort of outsider house meets squawking noise. Lots of names to investigate, anyway. I can't do it all for you, can I?!
Cat's Eyes - The Duke Of Burgundy
Did you see Berberian Sound Studio? It's an intriguing and unsettling film, and it's got great music in it. Its director Peter Strickland has a new film out soon, The Duke Of Burgundy, and this is the first song from its soundtrack. Cat's Eye is a collaboration between singer and instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira and James Holden clone/The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan. This track is reminiscent of Bruno Nicolai's All the Colours of the Dark - think emotive, 70s orchestral pop. Brilliant. Can't wait for the film, too.
Jo Thomas - Sunshine over Nimbus
Great collection of noises and clicks from this London producer/composer. Originally mooted for a release last year, the website now says "Forthcoming 2015", but sure stream away.
Jiibay Shadow Dancer~Particles
Jiibay Shadow Dancer is a Female Native American (Ojibwe) sound designer. This piece ofshimmering glory is from a few months back, but I found it during a lengthy Bandcamp/ SoundCloud hunt, the sort where you jump from one artist to the next and then all of a sudden you've forgotten about dinner. This kind of track makes it all worthwhile.
Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) (Patrice Baumel Club Edit)
The last track played at Trouw. I went there once, it was a good night. This is the best song ever™, so that's fitting. If you're not a fan of stretched-out, perfectly timed edits for club DJs, this isn't for you. But if you like edits of your favourite songs that drag them out beautifully, making them last longer than you thought possible, then have at it.
Project Pablo - Follow it Up
1080p are so hot right now, yeah yeah. That said, this really is irresistibly groovy.
Shabazz Palaces - Ham Sandwich
Short but blisteringly hot take on policing from Shabazz Palaces.
Rinse FM Podcast - Bake - 6th January 2015
Bake stood in for Hessle a few times last year, and now he's got his own show. It's pretty great. The first section is deep, spacey vibes, then he hits the floor after about half an hour. One thing I've mentioned about him is how he can make tracks unfamiliar and new, and he does it again here. Much as I loved Call Super's Suzi Ecto, I wasn't pushed on 'Raindance', yet here Bake uses it perfectly, catching it between two percussive jams. Speaking of jams, there's a solid 20-minute jazz piece about an hour and a quarter in, which leads into something a lot smoother. The closing piece, finally, has some inspirational sax work. Not just your regular Rinse bangers, then.
Brendan or something - Chappell (Bran's Extremely Unnecessary Edit)
Just listen. Trust me. (For the record, Brendan or something is an excellent writer, possibly my favourite working in "dance music" today. Take a look at his stuff for Juno Plus.)

I've been told Bandcloud needs more spaceships. So here's one.
All the best,
