Furchick and friends - Hung out to dry
No idea who Furchick is (she's a Perth-based sound artist). Never heard of Fag Ash records before (they're a London-based, international-focused sound collective). But this is a daring collection of weird noises. Go deep!
Patkus - Nigel's Brie
This is a nice set of gentle loops, melodies and drones. Some of it is a wee bit samey but overall it's a lovely release. Also, props for the title, which I can only assume is a reference to10 Things I Hate About You.
Radere - My Darling / My Divine
“I wanted to swallow myself by opening my mouth very wide and turning it over my head so that it would take in my whole body, and then the Universe, until all that would remain of me would be a ball of eaten thing which little by little would be annihilated: that is how I see the end of the world.”
— Jean Genet, Our Lady Of The Flowers
I can't really top that. It's dank and liquid and rubbery.
NYH08 Drvg Cvltvre - Incantations - Protektion
"28 minute white magic incantation." It plods, it chugs, it's dark, it gets clanky.
Body In The Thames - Where does a child hide in a small town like this? / 181213
Wonderfully pneumatic electro-techno from Sweden. The very lengthy '181213' is quite astounding.
RED BULL STUDIOS PARIS SESSION : PÉPÉ BRADOCK
French don Pépé Bradock hit headlines recently when a repress of his classic cut 'Deep Burnt' was announced, but this three-track set released with RBMA shows his talents haven't waned. 'Abul Abbas' is a chunky, raucous number, with elephantine squawks throughout; 'Choses Irréparables' is a strange and chilling interlude; and closer 'Homo Sandwichus' is deeper yet more irreverent than the other two. Top stuff all round
Exoteric Continent - Moviment (Hospital Productions 2015)
Spanish talent Arnau Sala, aka Exoteric Continent, preps a release for Dominick Fernow aka Vatican Shadow's Hospital Productions. This track is less harsh and abrasive than either Dom Guwop or indeed some of Sala's other work, but it's oppressive and haunting nonetheless. Cavernous clanks overshadow muted claps and insistent beeps.
Spokes - Ritalin (E.M.M.A. remix)
Finally! This is about to drop on Monday, but at last we can stream the cascading rivulets of aural tears that form this wonderful remix. If you haven't already, read this great conversation between Spokes and E.M.M.A. at Dummy.
Dan Letson - Tuff Wax 7
Killer mix of house/techno from Dan Letson. Crisp and clean mixing through fire tracks, slick movement, great selections. Wonderful stuff, especially when you're walking to work.
Eightfold - #05: Morkebla
Suitably varied mix from Morkebla, who weaves together Lee Gamble, Dalhous, Visionist, Colleen and even Earl Sweatshirt to great effect.
Øe – Unseed (Arboretum)
If you've been missing long, drawn-out passages of blissful ambience, this is perfect listening for your hangover this weekend. Premièring at the Headphone Commute, this release from Italian sound artist Fabio Perletta is almost searingly gorgeous.

If you're going to a festival this weekend, you're probably not even reading this right now.
All the best,
