First off. Can't believe not one of you commented on the glaring typo in the subject line of the last mail. I hope you liked Chloe's mix though. Hope you're enjoying Wimbledon (if that's your thing). Since the weather here has been nice and sunny (with occasional, unavoidable rainy spells), naturally this selection is laced with dread and malice.

WILTED WOMAN - bio inspo
Who is Wilted Woman? I'm not fully sure. Apparently her real name is Eel Burns. She seems to be based in Berlin. This release on Antwerp's More Records, is both bleepy and bloopy. Slow techno fuzz, basically. 'Nude Dub' is my jam. Not at all about me though, of course.
Young Palace - Locus
This is a new release from Young Palace, who put out a wonderful release late last year on Praesens Editionen, of zweikommasieben Magazin fame. It's also on their Bandcamp for free (the release is a whopping 60 Swiss francs). It's dark and shuffling, with musty piano and croaking sampled beats.
Lockah - It Gets More Cloud...
I've been following Lockah and Donky Pitch for a bit but it was 'Barcelona Drums' from his recent And Blue Brindle Too release that really caught my ear. Huge 80s synths, massive bombast, ear-to-ear grins all round. This album is brighter than its title would suggest, it's on a similar tip to Ikonika's Aerotropolis, though much more tongue in cheek. Imagine Boards of Canada soundtracking Outrun, basically.
Buttress O'Kneel - This Sick Beat
This is insanely good. It's a deconstruction of T-Swift's 'Shake It Off', inspired by her attempt to trademark the phrase 'This sick beat', which appears in the breakdown of that song. It opens with a scientist describing technology that can listen to heart murmurs following pulmonary embolisms, then plays a heartbeat at the tempo of 'Shake It Off', introducing gated and distorted samples and Tay-Tay saying that phrase over and over. Then the vocal is utterly shredded, slowed down, eviscerated. If you liked Bieber slowed down by 1000% or whatever, you'll like this. If you can't stand Taylor, however, steer clear.
monadh - Epipelagic Zone
This, from Jake Muir aka Monadh, is the second in a series of three aquatic-themed mixes. It moves through various different ambient sounds, propulsive, clubby 4/4, slower, dreamier sections and even entirely weightless moments of static.
Inkke - Euphoric Acid
Short lil' bit from Inkke, muted trap with a hint of film noir jazz.
Mysteries Of The Deep XXXVI - JOHN SELWAY | REALIZATION
A fantastic entry to this wonderful series from John Selway. Deep and dubby, it swallows you up in a vat of goo.
Juno Plus Podcast 116: Rhythmic Theory
Similarly deep is the latest Juno Plus podcast, from mysterious Bristolian Rhythmic Theory. Stark fizz, Dalhous, musky dank fog, an all-round super mix.
Michael - Club By Michael
This release is being put out by my friend, RBMA alum Orlando Volcano. It's in the lineage of Night Slugs/Club Constructions/Classical Trax, and as per the FACT premiere, it's PNEUMATIC. It sounds like it's been forged in the factory where this happened. Probably while this happened.
Dictator Faceles - Hideyoshi #1
Thanks to CL for this one. Dictator Faceless is a vinyl-only label, seemingly based in Japan. They've shared this pair of tracks from resident artist Hideyoshi, though it was released last year by Damolh Records, a Slovakian label run by Damolh33, who's also associated with DF. The first track is heavy, nightmarish techno, with floating bubbles of synth that in no way undercut the harsh mood. The second is more playful, leaning towards the light but with booming bass kicks beneath. Squelpy.
Aurora Halal - Sunlight
The new release from Aurora Halal on her Mutual Dreaming label. It's a bit trancey, a bit housey, it's very good. This track is the sort of track that deserves to be used in Hollywood club scenes, rather than whatever guff they go for at present. The whole release is ace though, go get it.
Frater.'. Shu'al - Rabbit Falling
"Debut track by Felix Keigh as Frater.', Shu'al produced by Florian-Ayala Fauna"
Eerie reverse, demonic vocals, shuffling dread. Seasonal, you know.

Stay spoopin'.
All the best,
