Hey. It's October and yet it's been unseasonably sunny in Dublin, and London and Manchester too I believe. Good thing music knows no seasons.
Volutes - The Quiet Hours
This is marked as, among other things, "electronic bass music deep house" but the beats are few and far between. It's a stark and sombre collection from this Chicago-based artist, dare I say ~cinematic~ if you'll allow me.
H Takahashi - Sea Meditation
Oh my. The latest tape on the always intriguing Entertainment Systems is a delight. It's a dreamy release of soothing melodies that are almost lullaby-like in their simple beauty. If you liked Phases Of A Forest Moon by Inner Travels you'll like this.
TEN HYPHEN TWENTY - Ossuary Gardens
An early contributor to the wonderful Where To Now? canon, Ten Hyphen Twenty (or 10-20) has just self-released this stunning album on his Bandcloud. Dank and oppressive and expansive and wonderful, there aren't really any words for it.
Concrete / Field & Wound - Concrete / Wound
Another excellent entry from Invisible City Records. More dark and searing drone, as befitting the top third of this mail.
